David McConnell’s American Honor Killings Winner of 2014 Stonewall Book Award!
Congratulations to David McConnell, whose latest book, American Honor Killings: Desire and Rage Among Men, has received the 2014 Stonewall Book Award-Israel Fishman Non-Fiction Award!
The Stonewall Book Awards, awarded annually by the American Library Association, recognize books of “exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience.” Stonewall Book Awards are selected by the GLBT Round Table and have been awarded since 1971.
American Honor Killings: Desire and Rage Among Men, called “a journalistic tour de force” by Publishers Weekly and “a masterpiece of reportage” by Library Journal, has received tremendous praise from multiple outlets, including Kirkus Reviews, LA Weekly, Huffington Post, Interview Magazine, Chicago Reader, Oxford American Magazine, Lambda Literary, The Advocate, and more.

DAVID McCONNELL is the author of the acclaimed novels The Silver Hearted (a finalist for Lambda and Ferro-Grumley awards) and Firebrat. His short fiction and journalism have appeared widely in magazines and anthologies, including the Literary Review (UK), Granta, and Prospect magazine (UK). He is the former cochair of the Lambda Literary Foundation, and lives in New York City. His latest book is American Honor Killings: Desire and Rage Among Men.
