EVENT: 2016 OCM Bocas winners!
Join the 2016 OCM Bocas winners for a Brooklyn Book Festival Bookend Event!
The Bocas Literary Festival will be at the Old Stone House in Park Slope with Write This in Fire: Five Burning Voices from the Caribbean featuring authors and poets from Jamaica, Trinidad, the US Virgin Islands.
The eminent Jamaican writer Olive Senior, winner of the 2016 OCM Bocas Prize for Fiction, will head the bill, and will be joined by Jacqueline Bishop, winner of the 2016 OCM Bocas Prize for Nonfiction; Tiphanie Yanique, winner of the 2016 OCM Bocas Prize for Poetry; plus Sharon Millar, winner of the 2013 Commonwealth Short Story Prize winner for her story “The Whale House,” featured in the anthology Pepperpot: Best New Stories from the Caribbean; and Shivanee Ramlochan, whose work is featured in Coming Up Hot: Eight New Poets from the Caribbean.
