Copycat in Good Company: Spotlight on the Waterloo Alleycat Project and the Cats of Blue Arrow Records (Cleveland, OH)
This month, we’re celebrating the release of David Yow’s Copycat: And a Litter of Other Cats by featuring some of our favorite library and record store cats from around the world. Today, we’re spotlighting Blue Arrow Records and their nonprofit organization, Waterloo Alley Cat Project (WACP), a group of dedicated residents and business owners volunteering to care for and protect the homeless cats on Waterloo Road in Cleveland, Ohio.
WACP is committed to finding food, shelter, and veterinary care for abandoned cats in the community and has successfully implemented a humane method of trap-neuter/spay-release (TNR) for over 250 cats to date. From WACP:
We are proud to report that our TNR program is working. The cat population in our neighborhood is decreasing and, in the process, we have saved the lives of many cats. We feel very fortunate to live and work in a community that understands and supports this project. Through teamwork, our mission is to improve and protect the lives of our community cats and teach that all life is connected.
Thanks to the Waterloo Alley Cat Project for the work they do and for allowing us to feature them on our website! For more information, visit WACP’s website or find them on Facebook.
In addition to their nonprofit organization, Blue Arrow Records has six resident cats! All were once abandoned until rescued by Blue Arrow Records, but each has their own tale to tell. From Blue Arrow Records:
Thanks for sharing with us, Blue Arrow Records!
