Rich Words, Poor Words: The growing divide between haves and have-nots is of concern around the world. How does language reinforce or bridge this divide? This reading explores the relationship between class, ethnicity and language. Book signing after reading.
Opening Party for the Local Cosmopolitan. Can a writer be both cosmopolitan in outlook and local in orientation? Marking the official opening of the festival, this reading showcases work that travels between home and the world. The reading is followed by a book signing and a reception.
