Panel: Transforming Our Broken Criminal Justice System
Learn how junk science and the treatment of black youth contributed to our broken, racist justice system and how a simple idea, such as procedural justice, can help transform it. The Honorable Victoria Pratt, author of The Power of Dignity: How Transforming Justice Can Heal Our Communities, Newark chief judge and law professor; M. Chris Fabricant, the Innocence Project’s Director of Strategic Litigation and author of Junk Science and the American Criminal Justice System; and Kristin Henning, criminal justice advocate and author of The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth discuss the American criminal justice system with Montclair State University Associate Professor of Justice Studies, Dr. Jason Williams. This event is co-sponsored by Montclair State University.
Venue: First Congregational Church, The Sanctuary. We will follow all Covid-19 safety protocols required by the CDC at the time of the event.
