Steve Gullick, Contributor to The Jesus Lizard Book, Developing Nirvana Diary Photo Book

Iconic rock photographer Steve Gullick, whose photographs appear throughout The Jesus Lizard Book, has put together a beautiful photo book that spans his time in the early nineties at music paper Sounds through the week following Kurt Cobain’s death in April 1994. This 196 page coffee-table book will contain stunning reproductions of Steve’s already well-known iconic images, plus unseen and rare photographs of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Pearl Jam, the Jesus Lizard, Hole, Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Sebadoh, Therapy ?, Melvins, and many more.

A live shot of the Jesus Lizard had been my contribution to the last ever issue of Sounds in April 1991. This photo was taken for Melody Maker on the 13th of November 1993 at the Vic Theatre in Chicago; one from this gig made the front cover. I was thrown out of the Reading Festival photo pit the following year for trying to follow David Yow into the crowd.
